My dad is a mailman so that means laundry is on nearly 24/7 in my house. Being outside all summer delivering mail means lots and LOTS of sweaty uniforms!
We already wash everything using cold water, which saves 90% more energy than washing on hot, but weโre also concerned about the impact of our detergent. So finding an eco-friendly way to keep up with him, while still ensuring a good thorough clean, is something our family really cares about.
Enter: Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets.
What are Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets?
Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets are a revolutionary liquidless laundry formula that instantly dissolves once it hits hot or cold water. Earth Breeze is dedicated to helping consumers lower their carbon footprint and reduce single-use plastic jugs, you know, the ones that liquid detergents normally come in.
Theyโve done this by creating eco-friendly liquidless laundry sheets that you can load into the soap dispenser or directly into the barrel of the machine. Earth Breezeโs Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets are great for people who have allergies, sensitive skin, or simply want to avoid harmful chemicals.
The product is:

How do Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets Compare to More Popular Detergents?
I recently had the opportunity to test out and review the Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets. So, I decided to put Earth Breeze to the test and see if their Eco Sheets could give me the same clean as my tried and true liquid detergent, but with a lighter environmental footprint.ย
To keep things simple, I did one load of laundry using the Tide pod detergent and the second load using the Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets.
Here’s how it went …
Initial Thoughts on the Eco-Friendly Packaging and Plastic Waste
Something I noticed right away about the name-brand detergent I bought was that it came in a single-use plastic bag, which was disappointing, to say the least. A stark contrast to the Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets, which arrived packaged in a compostable and biodegradable cardboard sleeve.
Liquid laundry detergents come in bulky plastic jugs that end up in the landfill (even if you recycle them!) and laundry pods come in single-use plastic bags or plastic containers that also end up in landfills. I was pleasantly surprised when Earth Breeze came in a sleek packet with fully compostable packaging, and was even shipped in paper instead of the typical plastic bag like most online orders, which truly shows their commitment to being eco-friendly!
Overall, the Earth Breeze packaging was more user-friendly, and of course much more sustainable with no plastic waste! Also, the incredibly compact packaging saved me more space in the laundry room compared to the bulky detergent pods.
Into the Washer!
I washed both loads on cold for an hour and 15 minutes, with one pod and one sheet respectively. Then I dried each load on warm for 60 minutes.
Donโt worryโI made sure I had a full load of laundry each time so I didn’t waste water!
For the first load of laundry, I used one Tide Pod in the scent meadow breeze.
For my second load, I used one Earth Breeze Eco Sheet in fresh scent.
So, do Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets Work?
After doing both loads of laundry and reviewing the two uniform shirts that I used as my โtesterโ items, I would say the answer is a resounding YES!! Not only did the detergent completely get rid of the smell of sweat and dirt but also the visible marks and stains that had accumulated throughout the dayโs wear.
I would also like to note that all the other clothes I put in the wash with the uniform were also thoroughly inspected, and I am happy to report that they were on par with the impressive cleanliness of the uniforms.
Letโs Compare the Sustainability
Now that we know both detergents give us similar results out of the wash, letโs talk about their impact on our planet, our daily life, and why I much prefer using Earth Breeze Eco Sheets.
Laundry Sheets vs. Pods
Although both the Earth Breeze liquidless laundry sheets and detergent pods are both pre-portioned, I found that not only were the sheets easier to store and use than pods, but there is no worry of them popping and making a mess in the laundry room. Yikes!
The Packaging
I already discussed how pleased I was with the packaging but another major benefit is that Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheetsโ biodegradable paper packaging will decompose much faster than Tideโs plastic container, which could take up to 1000 years to fully decompose!
Plastic Free
While the Tide Pods donโt come in your typical plastic laundry detergent jug, they still use plastic! The Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco Sheets ditch the single-use plastic and help prevent the 700 million plastic laundry jugs that are discarded annually in the United States alone.
Overall, Earth Breeze was easy to use, sustainable, and left my clothes feeling clean after one wash.
The Final Verdict: Can Liquidless Detergent Compete with Name Brand Cleaning Products?
Overall, I can confidently say that Earth Breeze gives you an amazing and reliable clean wash while also making up for what popular name-brand detergents lack in sustainability and waste reduction efforts.
I personally liked using Earth Breeze over laundry detergent pods not only because of the sustainability aspect but because it was mess free, saved space in my laundry room, and instantly dissolved in the washer.
I think it’s safe to say the hunt for a sustainable detergent that doesn’t sacrifice cleaning power is over. Iโm glad I found a new detergent that helps my family have a better environmental footprint and of course clean clothes!
