Transparency
- On the product page of every product, Pact shares the country it was made in, that it was a Fair Trade certified factory, and the number of workers.
- Pact ensures subcontracting is managed ethically through their Fair Trade certification.
- Pact can improve Transparency by publicly sharing their factory list, as well as information about the rest of their supply chain beyond the cut and sew factories.
- They can also improve by sharing how much of their supply chain they have traced, and their goals to improve over time.
Fair Labor
- Pact’s Fairtrade certification ensures a living wage for workers, a commitment to social, environmental, and economic standards, and safe working conditions.
- Fairtrade Premiums allow for a pool of money to be set aside for workers who then get to vote on how they spend the money such as for free lunches, childcare, or a bonus payment.
- Pact partners with Give Back Box to create their clothing donation program where they donate any clothes (not just Pact products) from customers to nonprofits.
Sustainably Made
- Pact’s Fairtrade and GOTS certifications ensure they make efforts to reduce carbon emissions, water use, and the amount of waste that enters landfills.
- Through Pact’s Partnership with SimpliZero, Pact measures their carbon footprint for each product and offsets the carbon through various projects which you can read more about on their website.
- Their carbon offsets include calculating the emissions from shipping their products, and from washing and drying the products over the product’s lifespan.
- For shipping, Pact uses FSC certified 100% recyclable paper envelopes made from 100% post-consumer recycled paperboard, and cardboard boxes made with 98% post-consumer recycled paper.
- Pact can improve Sustainably Made by investing in circularity, for example, by ensuring that their Give Back Box Program also includes clothing recycling for anything that can’t be resold.
